How to Burping a Baby

Feeding your baby for the very first time is an exciting experience. It can also be a little intimidating if you don’t know what to expect. How to burping your newborn may be a critical task for 1st time parent as well.So here’s a quick guide to one important aspect of feeding: burping.
During feeds, babies tend to swallow air. This is especially true if your baby does not latch on properly to your breast during feeds, causing him to take in mouthfuls of air. Burping your baby will help him get rid of some of the air swallowed. If babies aren’t burped frequently, it will lead to spitting up or vomiting, crankiness and gassiness in some babies. A colicky baby can also develop gas by swallowing too much air during crying spells, making your baby even more uncomfortable.
How to Burp Your Baby
There is no need to pound hard on your baby’s back, instead repeated gentle patting on your baby’s back should do the trick. Place a towel or a bib under your baby’s chin to prevent messy cleanups when your baby spits up or has a “wet burp”.
You may also want to experiment with different positions for burping that are comfortable for you and your baby. Many parents prefer to use one of these three methods:

Sit upright and hold your baby against your chest. Your baby’s chin should rest on your shoulder as you support his or her head and back with one hand. With the other hand, gently pat your baby’s back. Sitting in a rocking chair and gently rocking with your baby while you do this may also help.
Hold your baby sitting up, in your lap or across your knee. Support your baby’s chest and head with one hand by cradling your baby’s chin in the palm of your hand and resting the heel of your hand on your baby’s chest (but be careful to grip your baby’s chin - not throat). Use the other hand to pat your baby’s back gently.
Lay your baby on your lap on his or her belly. Support your baby’s head and make sure it’s higher than his or her chest. Gently pat your baby’s back.
If your baby seems fussy while feeding, stop the session, burp your baby, and then begin feeding again. Try burping your baby every 2 to 3 ounces (60 to 90 milliliters) if you bottle-feed and each time you switch breasts if you breastfeed. If your baby doesn’t burp after a few minutes, change the baby’s position and try burping for another few minutes before feeding again. Always burp your baby when feeding time is over.
For the first 6 months or so, keep your baby in an upright position for 10 to 15 minutes (or longer if your baby has gastroesophageal reflux) after feeding to help prevent the milk from coming back up. But don’t worry if your baby spits up a few times. It’s probably more unpleasant for you than it is for your baby.
Sometimes your baby may awaken because of gas - simply picking your little one up to burp might put him or her back to sleep. As your baby gets older, you shouldn’t worry if your child doesn’t burp during or after every feeding. Usually, it just means that your baby has learned to eat without swallowing excess air.

Red Dates Soup

This is a very good soup for enrich the blood especially for mummies after give birth to baby.
Ingredients:
1 bowl red dates
12g Shou Di
5g dried tangerine skin
10g Bei Qi
15g Dang Gui slice
12g JuZi (Kei Zi)
5g Chuan Xiong
10pcs black dates
5g Bai Shuo
13 bowl water
Method:
1. Boil 8 bowls of water abd out in all the herbs and cook in low heat for 2 hours.
2. Boil another 5 bowls of water and mix with the soup, consume as daily driking water.
Tips:
* Pre-soak the herbs for 30 minutes will have stronger flavor.
* Those who like sweeter taste may add in 2 pcs of honeyed dates.
* Shou Di has the effect of cooling down the blood and supplement YING; while DANG GUI will warm up the body and adjust the QI, therefore the cold against the warm which make this soup as a neutral supplement.

Taking care of my two princess

People always said 1 baby is not enough. He / she will be fully spoil and also feel lonely. I totally agreed this comment as I can see baby Nayely very keen to find neighbor's kids going to playground every afternoon time.
I thought everything will be fine after my 2nd princess has been born. However, I am totally / fully wrong. Nayely seems like not welcoming her sister for the 1st two weeks. She keep on cranky and crying most of the time especially during night time before when to bed. I totally understand her feeling; Nayely will probably think that mummy now not caring her anymore as I am the usual person to co-sleep Nayely all this while. Now, due to fully breastfeeding, the 2nd one will be on priority if the timing crash.
Nayely used to slap Meimei's head or face whenever she saw me breastfeeding Meimei without extra hand to avoid the incident happen. This really made me so angry and scold at her. I know it is not right for me can't control my temper, but Nayely really purposely made me angry as she will do some more if I said NO. She is damn good in testing the water. I have try to tell her and show her the right way to touch Meimei but she seems like still can’t understand. It probably she feels jealous.
However, it is almost 1 month time. Things getting better, atleast Nayely not so rough with Meimei, she even know how to kiss Meimei face softly and touch her softly after I have @#%xx%&& for the pass whole month. Anyhow, some time she may still act rough to the young one like pulling her hand from the baby cot. This is the things I really have to keep my eyes closely as Nayely act very fast.
OMG, it is really tired to take care 2 children if you are alone. Luckily I still have MIL to help up. Anyhow, I can’t imagine how she is going to take care both of my princess after I am back to work. Now I really don’t understand how the nanny can babysit 3 or 4 babies / toddlers. Probably there have some ways that I haven’t learn. Appreciate any mommies that have this experience can share with me in the comment.

Expecting my 2nd princess

I am in the midst of expecting my 2nd princess these few days. The EDD will be on 17 May 09. My gynae thought she will come early at least 1 week. Anyhow, she seems not. Another 2 more days to go. I really looking forward to see her and fully breastfeed her at the moment she was born.
I can't forget the sweet moment I breastfeed baby Nayely. It is so happy and I enjoy every moments although I am very tired during confinement especially night time.
No matter how, I am going to do the same for my 2nd princess. Baby, mummy looking forward to see you. Let's gambateh together ya!

Confinement Food Catering

Nowadays, confinement food catering has made mummy's life become easy. I have my 1st experience trying confinement food catering for my 1st baby. I am very happy and satisfied with the food & service provided. Besides, I really no need to worry on what are the foods I need to eat for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks in order to make sure I recover properly with the right nutrient. I have enough soup to drink everyday in my confinement food catering and it is so nutritious. I really have a lot of milk supplies to breastfeed my baby Nayely.

Currently I am pregnant for about 36 weeks for my 2nd baby. Again, I have made decision to sign for confinement food catering as before with the same company. The price they charge is quite reasonable after adjustment of RM100. As previous, I took the full package which include only lunch & dinner come with red dates water everyday. This package is RM2300 this year. They only charge RM2200 in year 2007 for the same package. This package is offer by SN Nanny.

Besides SN Nanny, Pei Ling also did offer confinement food catering package. However, Pei Ling charge RM2600++ for the lunch & dinner package. This is the recent update from my friend as she just takes the package recently (Feb-March 09).

Confinement Recipe - Chicken with Milk Sauce

This is one of the confinement recipe I like the most. It is so yummy. Here's the recipe. You can try it even as your daily dishes.
Ingredients:-
2 chicken drumsticks
100g of ginger - chopped
5 shallots - chopped
4 pips garlic - chopped
4 tabsp sesame oil
Sauce:
1 tabsp light soya sauce
100ml evaporated milk / fresh milk
Dash of sugar
Marinade:
1 tabsp light soya sauce
1 tabsp white rice wine
1 tabsp sesame oil
1 tabsp abalone sauce / oyster sauce
Dash of pepper

Method:
1. Marinate chopped drumsticks for 1 hour, blanch in hot oil and leave aside.
2. Fry chopped ingredients till fragrance, add in chicken, light soya sauce, milk & sugar.
3. Mix well and served.

It is so easy to prepare right? Try it.

Red Dates Water & Soup Daily during confinement

Red Dates water & Soup are very important to make sure mommies have enough breast milk for baby during confinement period. I heard a lot of mummies complain to me that they don't have milk for baby. Therefore, they give up to breastfeed baby. In fact, it is so sad to hear about this. Every mummies will have enough breast milk, if you don't mainly is because you don't have enough knowledge on breastfeeding your baby.
First of all, of course the right latching to your breast is very important. Make sure your baby's mouth cover the whole Areola and NOT suck on the nipple. If your baby suck on your nipple, you will feel breastfeeding is a tough job because it is so painful. Only when your baby's mouth suck on your Areola then it would be able to stimulate the breast milk factory to produce breast milk. Besides, the timing to breastfeed also play a very important role. A lot of mummies refuse to breastfeed directly during mid night time. They rather pump out the breast milk and let the nanny to feed. Of course, it is nothing wrong on this but you just miss out the BEST TIME of your milk factory to produce more milk. With only you breastfeed directly on that time, your milk factory will able to produce more milk. This is something related to hormone activity at this time. So, any mummies plan to breastfeed your baby, don't give up and I hope this tips will help all of you. Of course, it is tough to have determination to do this during confinement time. Anyhow, when you see your baby slowly grow up healthy, you will think everything you do is worth.

Nayely 1 Year Old

Time really flies. I has been spending 1 year of my life with my baby Nayely. I really go through the sweet and pain becomes a mummy. No wonder, everyone was saying Mummy is the most wonderful person in the world. Yeah, I feel it.
Since we didn't celebrate full moon with Nayely last year, therefore, we plan to organise a 1 year old birthday party for Nayely at our condo pool side. We order food catering to handle all food for guest. The food was not bad but we have a lot of left over due to the amount are huge. It must cater for big tummy guy, I guess. What a waste for this.
Baby Nayely was very happy on this particular day. We tour her around the swimming pool and she was excited wanted to jump into the pool for a swim. Yeah, daddy brings her to swim sometime. Therefore, she likes swimming.
The party starts around 7.30pm. All invited guest started to come. I and hubby were busy to serve the guest. Nayely stay with MIL and other relatives.
I order a big birthday (2kg) cake for Nayely. It is in orange flavor. Overall, it tastes nice. I let Nayely try this cake as well. She loves it.
I can see Nayely is tiring around 9.30pm but she just too excited and refuse to sleep. Suddenly she saw a cute puppy by neighbour, she keeps on asking us to chase the puppy by hugging her running together. Gosh, it's really tiring, but when I see her shines smilling face and laughing sound, I have forgotten how tired I am. She seldom laughs, but this is the night she laughs loudly and laughs the most.

Nayely was 11 Months Old

Nayely was in her 11 months today. Time really flies. Another month she will be turning to 1 year old. I still can remember vividly the moment I was in the hospital to deliver her. I just like happen yesterday, but she is in my live for 11 months since last year September. Hubby and I planning to organize a pool side birthday party to her at our condo. Therefore, I started to plan and get quotation from the food catering centre right now. I wish to organize a memorable 1 year old birthday party to her for the very 1st time next month.
So far, she is growing well and adorable. I guess to have about 10.8kg now. I will get her confirm weight next month when I bring her to routine check up. She is in an active learning stage now; we call “Monkey See, Monkey Do”. She likes to follow whatever we doing and try to act like an adult. In fat, I am quite headache due to she has a lots of interest on our adult’s stuff but not her toys. So, her hand tends to be very busy to touch and take whatever things she can reach. She can crawl very fast to reach the things she wants and stand up by herself with minimum support when she reaches the chair or cupboard. I must keep my eyes on her closely every time to avoid her in danger.
It’s really a challenging month for me from now on. I hope she can really listen to me and be an obedient girl from now on. She was able to understand more on what we talk to her and able to reply yes or no. I always ask her “ai nen nen”? She can answer me “ai” with her head knock to say yes as well. I can direct her to take something for me or crawl to washroom from living room to take bath as well. I really have much fun time with her at this stage. I hope she growth healthy and stay happily.

Olympic Badminton Men's Single Final

I’m hoping to watch this match so keen after Lee CW has confirmed his seat in the Men's Single Final on Friday. This is really a historical match to determine Malaysia able to get back the Badminton Men's Single Olympic Gold Medal after 52 years.
Tonight, all Malaysian's eyes are on Lee CW. I hope he was able to manage the stress and perform his very best in this final game.
I worried I will miss out this important game because RTM1 and RTM2 are not showing live telecast. I do not have Astro at home. Therefore, already suggest to hubby that we have late dinner at Mamak stall bringing little Nayely together for the match. Baby Nayely also very cooperative now, she is sleeping for almost 1.5 hours. I guess she knows that, mummy will not able to accompany her to sleep before the match ending.
Finally, I did a very smart decision by calling up RTM to ask whether tonight have live telecast on this important game or not. The answer is YES. Yeah, what a relief, I can sit at home to watch this game and scream whatever I like. Nayely is going to be shock then. Kekeke.
Another 1 more hour to go, I am starting countdown. I'm already taken my dinner, must take bath after this blog entry.
Let's cheer for Lee CW and Malaysia tonight. We hope a beautiful history create in Beijing Olympic.

Nayely in her 10 Months

Baby Nayely was in her 10 months. She was able to finish a whole bowl of porridge. She is learning to stand up by holding any object in front her. Therefore, it is dangerous time to take good care on her. In addition, she can crawl very fast to reach any objects.
Besides, she was able to tell me that she wants to drink "nen nen" or eat porridge by showing “yes” or “no” with her head. My MIL and I started to teach her more things. She can pick up the right object to us when we ask her to do so. Anyhow, she seldom calls me "mama" or call "papa", but she was able to pronounce "yu" which means fish by showing it to us as well. Why? A bit disappointed.
Currently, she likes swimming as well. Daddy will bring her to swim during weekend in the swimming pool inside our condo. She enjoys so much although she is shivering for cold. However, swimming make her skin complexion become dark. I still prefer her as "Snow White". Hiyo, really headache.

Nayely in her 9th Months

I almost forgot to blog about Nayely in her 9th months. It was really a busy months for me. Rushing to close a project and preparing to have my 1st incentive traveling with customer before end of the month, 27 June 2008 to China.
Nayely already has 2 teethes at the bottom. This enable her to bite some fruits like pear, apple and papaya. Besides, she loves High 5 Wheat Bread. She will screaming when see us eating every time. Therefore, in order for me to eat peacefully, I have to prepare some bread for her. She is 9.06KG weight now. Make me a bit taught to carry her now. She eats vege porridge most of the time with Spirulina. I only cook pork porridge or fish porridge during weekend for her.
Besides, she was able to sit and turn to crawl easily. She wants to learn walking now. Thus, she always wants us to hold her 2 arms and walk together with her. Sometimes, she will takes this opportunity to jump when we hold her 2 arms.
Overall, she is a very healthy and adorable baby.

Bangkok Trip with Baby Nayely

I am having my first ever overseas trip with baby Nayely and hubby. No doubts, bringing a baby for trip will be quite challenging. A lot of my friends warn me as well. Furthermore, baby Nayely just 8.5 months old. She might not able to cope with the air pressure when the aero plane boarding and landing. I prepare water for her to drink during that particular time.
Guess what? She has no problem when the flight boarding. She is making some noise when the flight start landing in Suvarnabhumi Airport. Anyhow, she consider good in her condition.
During the day we were back, baby Nayely really cranky. She make so much noise and cry during boarding due to the stewardess do not provide me the water when I request early. Therefore, I believe the air pressure make Nayely feel uncomfortable. By the time we are about landing, baby Nayely crying non-stop for about 15 minutes. She really makes me no patient as no matter what I said she also never listens. The whole neighborhood passenger was helping me to calm her down, but it’s useless. Finally, she cries until she feel enough then only she willing to stop. I was a bit headache on her behavior.
Last, I would say bringing Nayely on tour is not that bad experience. She only gives me problem during the flight boarding and landing. The rest, she really very cooperative for the whole journey.

Stop Breastfeeding Successfully

Time flies, finally I decide to stop breastfed Nayely in her 8 months. At first I thought that it is going to be a thought one as Nayely knows searching my breast. She understands the different between breast milk and formula milk. She likes to be on my breast at least 2 to 3 times a day especially night time. I started reduce a time to feed her on breast everyday. From 3 times to 2 times and from 2 times to 1. Then totally not direct feed her. She is crying especially when she is going to sleep and wish to have breast milk to comfort her emotion. Anyhow, I have to bear with it. Many times I want to let go and let her latch back on my breast but I really need to bear with it if I wish to success.
Baby Nayely is sick in this period of time as she is having her 1st two teethes. I feel guilty, if I still breastfeed her, she won't fall sick at this moment. Anyhow, everything is over, I manage to stop breastfeeding Nayely in 2 weeks time. Now, Nayely is on solid and 3 to 4 times formula milk daily.

Baby Nayely looks more girlishly in her 8 months. She is now weight at 8.83kg, a maximum figure for a baby girl according to my paediatrics. She loves to express a lot of baby talks daily. Besides, she is learning how to crawl. She hasn't manage to crawl successfully. She start to crawling backward instead of forward. The way she pushing up her buttock is funny. She have 2 tiny little teethes now. Therefore, she likes to request bread from us to bite. Basically, she can take any food that we give to her. I am going to bring her to Bangkok in the end of this month. I guess it will be a challenging experience as I am following a tour. I really wish that baby Nayely will cooperate with me along the journey.

Short trip to Hatyai

I went to Hatyai for short trip with my customer. This is my first time to Hatyai. I am very excited as I have heard a lot from my customer on its delicious food, especially fresh oyster. Therefore, I really can't wait to taste it by myself. According to my customer, the fresh oyster is very fresh and juicy. It is totally not like what we taste in Malaysia.
Well, we stop for lunch at Sadao. This place is a bit deep inside. I thought my customer drove us to jungle. This place located at the lake side. There are only 2 restaurants located there.
We order fresh oysters (10 pcs), fried glass noodle with crab, Tom Yam Gong and there serve some ulam. A very peaceful place we are having our lunch together with Vella Red Wine we bought at the duty free shop before entering Sadao. It is really a very good meal for us. Total bill end with THB1400 for 5 persons.
After that we continue our journey to Hatyai. Before we are on the way, we buy a pack of roaster pork to eat in the car (Heard that it is a signature dish as well, so shouldn’t miss).
About an hour time, we reach Hatyai. First thing to do is searching for hotel. We manage to find a nice hotel with on RM75 / night. After check in, we went for traditional massage. It only cost RM24 for 2 hours. We feel very fresh after 2 hours relaxing.
We went for our dinner somewhere nearer night market. Again we order some more oysters, fried glass noodle with prawn, grill fish, squid with Thai sauce. Besides, we start to drink cointeau – very nice liquor which we define it as silent killer.
Thereafter, we went to Kiss Channel (pub) to see the performance (dancing & singing). When we left, it’s almost 1am. We have our dessert – Ginko Bird Nest and mussel at the night market. The Ginko Bird Nest only cost at RM4. It is really unbelievable. It’s nearly 3 a.m. when we reach hotel on that day. Really tired and need a good rest. Don’t think we can wake up early the next day.
We went to mountain side to have a pray on the next morning. It is almost noon after we check out. After praying, we went to Lotus Tesco having our lunch and do some shopping. We really do not have much time to shop around for good leather. After Tesco, we are on our journey back to Penang and to KL on the same day. I really miss Hatyai oyster very much, definitely I will go again for it and also shopping for leather.

Kota Kinabalu Business Trip

I went to KK business trip last on 17 March 2008. I have to departure on 16 March (Sun) due to the event is early in the morning. It takes 2 hours & 45 minutes from KLIA to KK. This is my first time visit KK and also my first outstation over night trip after delivered baby Nayely. I am missing her so much in the 2 days 1 night trip. I heard from hubby that she is very obedient that night when I was not around. She didn't cranky at all.
When I was back from KK, she seems like missing me a lot. She keeps on attached to me closely. She wants me to hug her and calm her to sleep. If I put her down on the bed, she will cry. She is acting like a spoiled brat for 3 days. Oh gosh, really make me very tired on this because she wants me to hug her in order to compensate her for the 2 days and 1 night when I was away.
I need to go for another business trip next month. This time is Kuching, I guess after I came back, again is enough for me to suffer for a few days.

Nayely is 6 Months Old

Time flies, finally I have breastfeed Nayely to 6 months. She is able to start solid food now. In fact, she is keen on starting solid food in 5 months old but I tried to control on her. It's good to let baby start solid on 6 months onwards. I let her try out with food on her 5 months as per my paediatric advise. She really loves fruit.
I bring her to the Hepatitis B 3rd jab recently. She is 8.18kg and 70cm healthy baby. She has start on her baby talk very frequently on some words like "ai mum mum", "pa pa pa", "ma, ma, ma". I am very happy when heard she call "ma, ma". Shall I consider she is able to call me "mama"?

Nayely In Her 5th Month Old

Baby Nayely is in her 5th month old. She can now sit with minimum support. Anyhow, she does not successful to learn turning yet. She still needs sometime to practice, I guess.
She is 7.99kg now and quite an active baby girl. She always likes to scream loud for attention. Can you imagine that she is screaming until her throat gets swelling and yet she fall sick – fever? Doctor said that she shouldn’t has fever in her 5th months, because her immune system should be quite good as I am breastfeed her until today, but she really have fever one day after she is 5th month old.
Out of a sudden she is sick and this really make me panic. Luckily she recovers right after visit the doctor. My MIL said that she would likes to share some of her angpow money with the doctor after CNY. Hahaha, it might be true also as her body back to normal temperature after visit the doctor. So, to be safe, I just give her 1 time medicine. Today she is an active baby again, don’t forget she still likes to scream loud. I try to control her on this, afraid she fall sick again. Fever really bad, I feel that she loss weight after recover. I hope she stay healthy from now onwards. This is my little wishes, and definitely is all mummies wish.

FGS Don Zen Temple

We went to FGS Don Zen Temple on 16th of February. This is the first time we went there. I am not too sure about the location, so I took the map print from internet and act as hubby’s navigator. We are exploring the road to Banting. It was a raining day in that evening. After about 1 ½ driving, finally we reach there. It was crowded in this little town of Jenjarom. Luckily, the parking is ample. Anyhow, the road condition for the parking is very bad. A lot of dust flies when car pass by. Immediate I feel my throat is not feeling well after going home. I really wish the authority people there can improve the parking lot condition next year.

This is some CNY new clothes I bought for Nayely recently.I bought 2 rompers at Hytex Warehouse sales at RM8 each. Another Tenderly romper at Jusco Mid Valley cost me RM16.90 (discount 20%). I like the light green colour long sleeve and pant. It is from Poney which on cost me RM12.40 after 50% discount. I bought it at Jusco Mid Valley as well.

Baby Nayely in Her 4 Months - Part II

I heard from old people, we need to do something for baby when they reach 4 months old. Old generation people will cook whole chicken (pak zham kai) and pray. After that, they will use the chicken mouth to touch at baby’s mouth. Modern parent now used to let the 4 months old baby to taste biscuit in order to reduce their slaver. The common use biscuit will be Biscuit Marry. First of all, we string the biscuit together (8-10 pcs) to make it like a necklace, and then tie it to the baby’s neck. After that, both mommy and daddy use the biscuit to wipe from baby’s face (left & right) to the mouth. This is to keep the slaver back to the mouth. Later, mommy and daddy have to break the biscuit into two and eat it.
In order to prevent that, hubby and I also listen to MIL to apply this to baby Nayely. We hope that she won’t drop-out so much slaver to wet her hands and body before she has her teeth. Let’s look Nayely with the biscuit and sit in Bumbo.

Today baby Nayely is in her 4 months old. As at today I am breastfeeding her exclusively without any supplements. She is growing well under mommy breast milk.
I bring her to routine check up and 3rd jab in the morning. She is 7.47kg after checking by the paediatric. I am a bit worried because she seems like growing too much. My paediatric told me to take it easy as Nayely might loss her weight after 4 months. Let's wait and see, but I really love her chubby look now.

After you deliver your little baby, you notice that the nurse in the hospital will bundle up your newborn snugly in a cosy baby blanket. The method they using is call swaddling.
Swaddling is the art of snugly wrapping your baby in a blanket for warmth and security. It can keep him from being disturbed by his own startle reflex, and it may even help him stay warm and toasty for the first few days of life until his internal thermostat kicks in. Most important, it can help to calm your baby since he's used to being tightly compacted in your womb.
With the wrap, it also provides a gentle and even horizontal pressure around your baby's abdomen, and it helps to relieve colic or prevents him from startling on any sudden noises. Trust me, swaddling is a very useful way to prevent your baby colicky should you wish to train him to sleep in the baby cot from day one. Should you plan to let your baby sleep inside baby sling, then this method might not suitable to apply on your newborn. However, if you find that your baby hates being confined and is irritable when he's bundled up, please don't do it. I didn't do this for my Nayely because she hates to bundle.
What you need to swaddle a baby?
Swaddling blanket made of 100% cotton flannel. It must be lightweight and breathable, flannel has a surface that is brushed soft. Ideally meassurement, the wrap should be square-cut (not larger than 74cm x 74cm) with hems.
How to perform this cozy art?
1) Spread out the blanket on a flat surface. Fold down one corner of the blanket.Position your baby with his shoulder just slightly below the folded section of the blanket.
2a) Place him left arm close to her body, and fold the left side over.

2b) Tuck in the edge under his back.
3) Fold up the bottom, covering your baby's legs and lower body.

4) Place your baby's right arm close to his body before bringing the right edge of the blanket over his body - make sure it's snug.
5) Tuck the right edge securely under the left sideof your baby's body.

Tips: Make sure the room temperature is not too warm so your baby does not overheat.

A lot of outstation peoples travel to Penang because of Seafood. The famous place that a lot of outstation travellers used to go is Bukit Tambun Seafood Village. The seafood there is considered cheap in price, but the most important is very fresh. Bukit Tambun Seafood Village located before entering Juru Toll should you came from Singapore, Southern regions or Kuala Lumpur. It hasn’t entering Penang Island. I went there for 3 times, my favorite food definitely is Crabs and Mantis Prawn. I need to highlight here, the crab is not the meat crab we can find in KL. That is the local crab with a lot of crab eggs. In fact, the taste is as good as Shanghai Hairy Crab and price is a lot cheaper in compare.
Recently, I get to know another good seafood place in Penang Island. In fact, I didn’t know it before although I am native there. It is located at 84, Mk 9, Teluk Kumbar, 11920 Pulau Pinang. The restaurant name is Good Friend Seafood. I saw there are a lot of good comments on this restaurant. I definitely want to have a try in my next trip back to home town.

Basil Leaves Stir-Fry Village Chicken

I love basil leaves favor. I always use it to cook soup with egg or fried with egg (no choice, I only knows two of this basil leaves recipes).
Until recently, I found another 1 which is very nice; Basil Leaves Stir-Fry Village Chicken. I share the recipe to all my blog reader here.
Ingredients:
Village Chicken (~400g) à half chick
Black Fungus (20g) à soaks it and cut into pieces
Basil Leaves (30g) à clean it and cut into pieces
Garlic (3 pcs) -> slice it
Cloves Garlic (3 pcs) -> slice it
Old Ginger (12 slices)
Condiments:
Soya Sauce -> 1 table spoon
Seasame Oil -> 1 tea spoon
Sugar -> ½ tea spoon
Seasoning:
Glutinous Rice Wine -> 3 table spoon
Chinese Wine (Shao Xing) -> 2 table spoon
Soya Sauce -> 2 table spoon
Method:
1) Clean the village chicken and cut into pieces (bite sizes), then blanch in boiling water; dish out, put in the condiments and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
2) Heat seasame oil in wok, fried the ginger, cloves garlic and garlic.
3) Pour in the marinated chicken and fry for 10 minutes.
4) Add in black fungus, basil leaves and seasoning, stir slowly until chicken are tender.
5) Lastly, simmer over low heat and boil for 5 minutes.
6) Serve it hot.

This is another warehouse sales I wish to go after Baby Kiko last 2 weeks. I was a bit regret go to Baby Kiko warehouse recently as the clothes is not really cheap compare to previously. I was really wrong to spend about RM200 there. By comparison, Hytex warehouse sales more attractive in pricing. Besides, the clothes that offer also very nice in design. I am not sure hubby will kill me if I request to go to this warehouse sales. It's due to he know I will grab baby Nayely's garments like no need to pay for it. Haha......especially with the garments on World of Cartoons.

My Life After Being a Mom

Someday, my friend asks me how my life is after being a mother. I told her, it’s full of fun and excited. Besides, a lot of motherhood knowledge need to be learn, I need to learn be more multitasking. I guess all mother agreed with what I said. I wrote it as summary below.

My time is mainly her time.
Free time only belongs to me when she fall sleep.
She fall sick, I fell pain.
Learn to do 2 things in a time.
One hand carries her, on the other hand eating my meals.
No more watching movie at cinema with hubby.
Enjoy shopping together with baby and hubby during weekend.
Cut down business entertainment after office hour as much as possible.
Think of her during office hour.
Annual leaves are mainly reserve for her activities.

What else? This is what I can think currently. It might be more in the near future. Or you can think any to add in?

Holidays Again

Yeah, I am having my holidays again until begining of 2008. I can spend more time with Nayely start from now. It's 1 month time since I go back to work after 60 days rest. Nayely started to "talk" a lot during day time. She is making a lot of funny sound and also screaming sometime. She will be in 3 months old this coming Wednesday. Nayely turns 3 months old soon. Today I bring her for routine check up and jab. She is extreamly good. Weight at 6.54kg. She likes to "talk" and laughing loud. "Yau", "Yau", "Arr", "Arr" is her common sound. She even can follow me laughing "her.. her.. her". She don't like to be alone. As at today she is still exclusively breasfed baby.

After celebrating our Wedding Anniversary, today baby Nayely reaching her 2nd month. She really growth very well by drinking mommy's breast milk. She weight 5.47kg now and her outlook is like michelin baby exactly. So cute!!!

Today is the 1st day I go back to work after 60 days rest at home. I am so excited going back to office. Anyhow, today seems like a boring day as many colleagues is not around. May they started to clear leaves. I am looking forward baby Nayely reaching her 3rd month and that time I will started to on leave until next new year. Looking forward to have holidays soon.

2nd Anniversary

Windows Corrupted

Time flies. I am going back to work soon. After breaking for about 60 days maternity leaves, today is the first day I try to switch on my laptop (normally I use desktop at home). Out of a sudden, my laptop show blue screen and pop out an error message: \system32\ntoskrnl.exe missing or corrupt, please re-install. I try to boot to save mode or my last known good configuration but failed. Opps, it's really bad.
Out of no choice, I try my luck searching from the internet to find way to fic the problem. Great, I found the website teaching step by step. Here is the solutions:-

Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \System32\Ntoskrnl.exe
Solutions:
Boot to the recovery console.
Turn on the computer, pop in the Windows XP CD.
Reboot the computer. If the Windows XP CD does not boot up, then reboot, go into the BIOS and configure the "boot order" to boot from CD first. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Select R for Recovery.
After getting to the Recovery Console prompt, make certain that you are in the C:\Windows path for XP (assuming that XP is on C:, that Windows was installed into the \Windows directory, and that your hard disk is readable).
Change to your CD drive - by typing "D:", "E:" or "F:" etc. -- this varies per system but is most often:D:
Change to i386 path by typing:cd i386
Copy necessary files to root path (C: in this case) of winxp installation by typing:copy ntldr C:
copy ntdetect.com C:
Change back to your windows path:C:
cd windows
Attempt to fix the boot record:fixboot c:
Try restarting machine - if still nothing - go back into recovery console by booting from cd Then run:fixmbr c:
If it does work but you are getting an annoying boot.ini message everytime you restart your PC now go back into recovery console as above and run:bootcfg /?

After trying all this steps, more errors are created and I get to know that this problem occur might due to hard drive problem, it's going to corrupt soon. I didn't manage to enter to windows to backup my files. Shit, I am going to loss my data.
Besides I found some way to test hard drive. See below:-

Even if the drive is made by another company, it will still do a test. When you run the program, it creates a boot floppy that runs the test. So you'll need a blank floppy diskette handy.

Nayely's shaven head

Today I suddenly think to shave Nayely's hair into shaven head. It's because she got a lot of hair since born. Now the hair getting longer and it's easily smelly because she sweats a lot during day time. I was a bit begrudging because she is really cute with that hair. Mom In Law said it’s good to shave it due to the hot weather as well. She will look nice after a few months.
Ok, decision made. Nayely is having shaven head now. Do you think she is still as cute as previous?

Today was the first time I dine out with hubby and baby after give birth to Baby Nayely. We went to Hainan Kopitiam for our dinner. Nayely was very sleepy tonight. We put her into a Pushchair and took her along with us for dinner. I order Hainan Chicken Chop with mushroom source (signature dish) and hubby order a fish burger. Both of us enjoy our dinner that night. I have really had a special feeling by having Baby Nayely beside me. She really cheer up my life!

MARMET TECHNIQUE
The Marmet Technique of manual expression and assisting the milk ejection reflex (sometimes called the let-down reflex) has worked for hundreds of mothers - in a way that nothing has before. Even experienced breastfeeding mothers who have been able to hand express will find that this method produces more milk. Mothers who have previously been able to express only a small amount, or none at all, get excellent results with this technique.

TECHNIQUE IS IMPORTANT
When watching manual expression the correct milking motion is difficult to see. In this case the hand is quicker than the eye. Consequently, many mothers have found manual expression difficult - even after watching a demonstration or reading a brief description. Milk can be expressed when using less effective methods of hand expressions. When used, however, on a frequent and regular basis, these methods can easily lead to damaged breast tissue, bruised breasts, and even skin burns.

The Marmet technique of manual expression was developed by a mother who needed to express her milk over an extended period of time for medical reasons. She found that her milk ejection reflex did not work as well as when her baby breastfed, so she also developed a method of massage and stimulation to assist this reflex. The key to the success of this technique is the combination of the method of expression and this massage.
This technique is effective and should not cause problems. It can easily be learned by following this step by step guide. As with any manual skill, practice is important.

ADVANTAGES
There are many advantages to manual expression over mechanical methods of milking the breasts:
Some mechanical pumps cause discomfort and are ineffective.
Many mothers are more comfortable with manual expression of breast milk because it is more natural.
Skin to skin contact is more stimulating than the feel of a plastic shield. So manual expression usually allows for an easier milk ejection reflex.
It's convenient.
It's ecologically superior.
It's portable. How can a mother forget her hands?

HOW THE BREAST MAKES MILK
The milk is produced in milk producing cells (alveoli). A portion of the milk continuously comes down the ducts and collects in the milk reservoirs. When the milk-producing cells are stimulated, they expel additional milk into the duct system (Milk rejection reflex or Let-down reflex)

EXPRESSING THE MILK
Draining the Milk Reservoirs

1) POSITION the thumb and first two fingers about 1" to 1 1/2" behind the nipple.

* Use this measurement, which is not necessarily the outer edge of the areola, as a guide. The areola varies in size from one woman to another.
* Place the thumb above the nipple and the fingers below, in a 12 o'clock and …….. 6 o'clock position, as shown.
* Note that the fingers are positioned so that the milk reservoirs lie beneath them.
* Avoid cupping the breast. The fingers should NOT be in a …….. 12 o'clock and 4 o'clock position.

Note the moving position of the thumbnail and fingernails shown in red in illustration. The arrows on the show the direction of the pressure the fingers apply. See that the fingers under the breast start with the pressure on the back most finger in the 'Push' and moves to the front most finger in the 'Roll'.

4. REPEAT RYTHMICALLY to drain the reservoirs.
Position, push, roll; position, push, roll.

5. ROTATE the thumb and finger position to milk the other reservoirs. Use both hands on each breast. The fingers will move from the 12 and 6 o'clock positions, to 11 and 5 o'clock, 2 and 8 o'clock, 3 and 9 o'clock. These pictures show hand positions on the right breast.

AVOID THESE MOTIONS

ASSISTING THE MILK EJECTION REFLEX
This will help with relaxation and will help stimulate the milk ejection reflex.

PROCEDURE
This procedure should be followed by mothers who are expressing in place of a full feeding and those who need to establish, increase, or maintain their milk supply when the baby cannot breastfeed.
* Express each breast until the flow of milk slows down.
* Assist the milk ejection reflex (massage, stroke, shake) on both breasts. This can be done simultaneously.
* Repeat the whole process of expressing each breast and assisting the milk ejection reflex once or twice more. The flow of milk usually slows down sooner the second and third time as the reservoirs are drained.

TIMING
The ENTIRE PROCEDURE should take approximately 20-30 minutes.
* Express each breast 5-7 minutes.
* Massage, stroke, shake.
* Express each breast 3-5 minutes.
* Massage, stroke, shake.
* Express each breasts 2-3 minutes.
Note: If the milk supply is established, use the times given only as a guide. Watch the flow of milk and change breasts when the flow gets small.
Note: If little of no milk is present yet, follow these suggested times closely.

Nayely Fullmoon

Baby Nayely is fullmoon today. We not have a big celebration for her. We just order some fullmoon gift from Uniq and some cakes from Baker's Cottage. The cakes from Baker's Cottage looks nice and tasty as well. It's special to give it to friend as a fullmoon gift. Those I order from Uniq is the tradisional one come with 2 eggs and Ang Ku Kuih. I replace the Nasi Kunyit and Curry Chicken with Mable Cake because we want to do it in vegetarian.

Confinement Food Catering

This time I am going to blog about my confinement food from SN Confinement. Overall, I am quite happy with the food they prepare for me, but it just a bit oily for me. I am not sure is it confinement food tend to be oily because of seasame oil using for cooking. Anyhow, I found that it’s not much variety for me as the same food can be repeated 2 or 3 times a week. Those like potatoes, yellow wine chicken, pumpkin and fermented wine rice meat / chicken. Beside these dishes I mention, I must put a thumb up for their certain dishes like claypot chicken rice, turmeric chicken, butter chicken, black pepper chicken, black vinegar shank and don’t forget all the herbs soup. It's been a long time I didn't update my blog since last post. I become a new mother busy with motherhood life recently. A lot of things need to learn in order to understand my baby. It's not really easy to understand baby from their crying, but slowly every parent will know how to manage it. Give some time and be patient.
Today, I need to bring my baby for routine check up at TDMC. Baby Nayely has been gaining weight after 10 days born. It’s an extremely good sign as normally baby will loss 7% weight in 1st week after birth. She gains 0.35kg in 10 days and her jaundice improves compare to the time when she discharges from hospital. Doctor said this is weird as fully breastfeed baby will normally having jaundice for about 2 to 3 weeks, but she’s not. Anyhow, it’s good news for me. I just hope Nayely will stay healthy and growth well.

I have minor contraction pain at 12am. I know my baby is practicing. I try to relax myself and sleep. Around 3 am. I wake up to toilet and I have felt the contraction pain more than before. I saw there are bloods coming out. I quickly bath myself and wake up hubby. By the time 3.30am, hubby sends me to TDMC. Over there, the nurse check my contraction timing, it's 4 minutes for every contraction. That time the nurse told me I only dilated 1.5cm and since my contraction is not so painful, she ask me to go back home.
After reach home, I already can't sleep because of the contraction pain. I lay at Gintell Massage Chair for the whole night and morning.
At 7.30am, I wake up hubby and ask him to buy me my favorite Mee Siam for my breakfast. After taking breakfast, I rest again. Blood still continue coming.
At around 10am, my friend calls me and asks me how my condition is. I told her that I have blood coming but the nurse told me to go back and rest at home. She advises me go to hospital immediately. I call my gynae, she told me to come to hospital immediately as well.
After reach there, the nurse check my contraction timing, it's still every 4 minutes pain. My gynae check the dilation for me this time, she said it's already 4cm. She will give me baby today. She breaking my water bag and ask the rest to prepare the necessary things. I suppose my baby will came on 20 September 2007. But no choice as my gynae already breaking my water bag and she said need to induce me. That is 11.30am, after induce, she expected I dilated faster like every hour 1cm. So by the time 5.30pm, I can expect my baby.
Time pass by, I found contraction more serious after induce. Hubby accompanies me in the labor room. I was very tension and can't relax myself. The midwife suggest me to take Epidural, I rejected. Then she gives me 1 jab of injection to calm me down.
Around 3pm, the contraction pain more heavy, I decided to take the gas in order to reduce it. At that time, I only dilated another 1cm, which is not like whatever doctor expected after induce. Time pass, 4.30pm, I totally in a difficult condition as I feel myself want to relieve the bowels, I start to practice pushing in order to release the pain. The midwife told me to hold the pain and cannot push as my pelvis not yet dilated wide enough. I have to bear the pain. I am very suffer this moment as I feel I want to relieve the bowels, which already come to the stage I can't control myself. I want to vapor out everything. My gynae came in and check me; I have dilated 6cm coming to 7cm. I pleased her to let me go to toilet. She told me if I really can't bear with it, then just vapor out everything on the bed. Immediately, I settle everything out. The nurse and midwife busy to clean me up. Gynae told me try to bear for the pain and do not push anymore as my pelvis bone already swelling. My baby's head is very near there, she don't want my baby's head swelling as well. Otherwise, I might need to go for Caesarean.
By the time 6pm, I really have a heavy contraction pain like want to relieve the bowels. They ask me to bear with it. That time, I surrender, I request Epidural. But, it's too late because I have dilated 8cm and I am in the tension condition. Therefore, I got no choice, bear with the pain (it's painful like you want to relieve the bowels).
My gynae came in to check me and asking me try to push when I was dilated 9cm. All nurses and midwife there are helping me to "push" out my baby. The condition in the labor room is like the stadium. You cheers for your favorite team.
Hubby is beside me to cheer me up as well. He did a good job to make me more motivated. Thanks a lot hubby. Finally, after trying so hard, I heard my baby's crying sound. There are hot liquid stuff came out. The midwife immediately put my baby on top of my tummy. I saw her, it was amazing. I totally forgot the survival time before she arrives. Her face and head are bloody. The nurse put in a tube to clean the dirt in her mouth. After that, they bring her to clean up.
I rest there and my gynae busy with her job to "sew" my wound. She told me well-done, because she has standby to send me in the operation room for Caesarean. Totally, she told me I lost 300ml blood, which is still manageable for me as it's just like I donate blood.
After baby has clean up, I told the nurse I want to breastfeed her. They bring her to me, and I try to breastfeed her on the bed. The nurse is helping me and I did it quite successfully for the 1st time. After everything has been done, I was send to ward and my baby was send to nursery. I told them to bring her to me as I will fully breastfeed her.
I was in the hospital for 2 days and after that discharged. Now I am busy with motherhood life. Start to learn baby's body language as well. Everything is fantastic and wonderful.

39 weeks

This morning, I wake up to toilet. I found some yellowish liquid came out after I pee. It's like leukorrhea. I started to worry, but it is neither blood nor watery liquid. This continue for the whole afternoon. By 4pm, I try to call my gynae and mention to her on my condition. She told me to come to hospital directly for her to check up. I reach about 4.30pm. My gynae check and told me I have dilated 1.5cm, which is a good sign. She might expected me this week.
After that, I went shopping with MIL before go back home. We buy some vegetables and food to prepare our dinner. I took light dinner at tonight.

In My 38 Weeks

This is my 38 weeks pregnant. Doctor wants me to start on MC for rest and doing exercise for labor preparation. I told doctor to let me settle and handover my on hand jobs. Therefore, I will be away after 2 days.
My baby is healthy and prepare to come to this world soon. Doctor said base on my condition my baby definitely will come early than the EDD. Well, let's see later. Ultrasound shows that my baby is 3.4kg but doctor said it definitely not the right reading as my tummy not look like carry a 3.4kg baby. My weight increase another 0.5kg become 65.0kg now. Hope to see my baby soon...

In My 37 Weeks

Today is my 37 weeks 4 days, coming to 38 weeks soon. Just do my routine check up this morning. Doctor told me my little girl is almost ready. I can expect her anytime. She wants to give me MC and stay at home start from next week. I told her let me settle and handover before I go for MC and maternity. She agreed and told me to be careful.
Besides, she did told me to do more excises like walking and squad down to let my baby’s head move further down or engaged. It’s easy to give birth naturally later.
I have increase another 0.5kg this week and make my body weight to 64.5kg. My baby is already 3.1kg and her head is very round in shape. Since I almost deliver, doctor did remind me to drink coconut water and also eat the meat as well. This is due to there are believes saying that coconut water can reduce the body heat and prevent jaundice on baby. Besides, the coconut fleshes also well for baby skin. Base on her, I can have fresh coconut 3 times a week. Hahaha, that’s great because coconut is my favorite.

Government servants - five years’ unpaid maternity leave

It shows that how generous the government announced this news in the headline in most of the paper this morning. Personally, I really feel disappointed with this decision as it only applied to government servants. Most of the women are working in private sectors and we need to care our baby growing up as well. It is impossible asking the private sectors to follow this policy as 5 years is really ridiculous and too long.
Most of households require income from both parents; hence the benefit alone is insufficient to address the basic needs of mothers and young children or to support a family. Therefore, I do not think that this policy is making sense.
All we need is a longer paid maternity leave as recommended by the International Labour Organisation, which is 14 weeks. Mothers in Malaysia are given only eight weeks' paid maternity leave. This has been highlight in the pass 5 years but until today there is no news on it. In fact, 8 weeks’ paid maternity leave in Malaysia was far behind other countries like Sweden (14 weeks), Singapore (12 weeks) and Hong Kong (10 weeks). Why our government can’t just follow the norm rather than practicing something special and not logic?

36 weeks now

Yeah, it is my 36 weeks now. I am going to see my baby soon. I can’t imagine, time pass very fast. I still remember vividly when the time doctor confirms I am pregnant. For the pass 36 weeks, everything goes smoothly. I am in a very comfortable pregnancy without any morning sickness or even sick.

I just met up with friends this few days. They all very surprising when see me. Why? Am I looks like Dinosaur now? No no no… I won’t let it happens. Most of them notice that although I am in my 36 weeks but I totally do not have any leg edema (water retention) or even mild swelling in my hands currently.

What’s my secret? This is I want to share. I have been consuming back Dr. Xeniji in my 7th months pregnancy. I took it from the beginning of my pregnancy to prevent morning sickness (the clinical research did said it’s good for fetus). After my 4th month’s pregnancy, everything seems like ok, and then I stop it in the 5^th month. I re-consume it back in my 7^th months because I found that I have a little bit of swelling leg (my shoe started become tight). I ask my friends who did consume Dr. Xeniji without failed, yet they do not have water retention problem. Therefore, I wish to try my luck. I took it at that night before I go to bed. To my surprise, the next morning my swelling leg release (I can wear the same shoe comfortably again). It’s such good news to me! Thus, I consume it without failed until today.

Braxton Hicks Contraction

As I am in the final trimester, a lot of things need to be careful and get myself ready for labor. Currently, I come across painful in my vaginal part. The feeling is like when we are going to have our period. I found that it makes me difficult in walking. As I am first time preggy, I do not know what's happening. After searching from the internet, I come across this knowledge on "Braxton Hicks Contraction". What is it all about? Let see......

Braxton-Hicks contractions are normal during the last month of pregnancy. The fact that they are painful probably has more to do with the "contents" of the pelvis than the uterus itself.
The growing baby impinges on bladder, bowel, ovaries, the bony pelvis and the spine, which all are richly-innervated structures.
The "old days" recommendation would be to take a glass of wine, which inhibits uterine contractions, but of course, we know now that there is no safe level of alcohol intake during pregnancy. Some herbal teas may produce a similar relaxing effect.

This recipe and the herb list is borrowed from a textbook of healing herbs called "The Complete Woman's Herbal" by Anne McIntyre.

3 parts skullcap or passionflower
1 part sliced fresh ginger
2 parts wild yam
Mix 1 oz (25 gm) of herb to a pint of boiling water. Infuse for 20 minutes. Take a cupful three times a day.
Other herbs can be equally effective as teas or dilute tinctures:

black haw
black cohosh
cramp bark
These all relax the uterus and the whole pelvic area. They are all excellent remedies, and recommended for the over-powerful contractions of the uterus -- both during pregnancy and after birth.

Besides, there are 12 things we need to know about Braxton Hicks Contractions:-
1. Get lots of rest. The real danger of these contractions is that they can disrupt sleep, which saps a woman's energy for labor.
2. Go to sleep later than usual. Babies are sometimes at their most active in the early nighttime hours, so it may work to adjust your bedtime to later, after the greatest period of fetal activity.
3. Rest lying on your side. When on her back, the uterus is more irritable and contracts more frequently. Resting with eyes closed is almost as good as sleep.
4. Graze. Eat around the clock, eating only small amounts each time.
5. Try decreasing dietary fiber. A diet that encourages a minimal response from the colon will keep the bowel a bit more quiet. Even though fiber is very good for you, try to decrease dietary intake for a while to see if that helps.
6. Drink lots of fluids.
7. Keep the bladder empty.
8. Avoid any nipple stimulation.
9. Avoid hot baths.
10. Look at your work. If your job brings you into contact with infants, this can cause sympathetic reflex contractions.

Risk factors for pre-term labor include:

History of pre-term labor
Any cervical changes
Sexually transmitted diseases
Advancing maternal age
Hypertension or other maternal diseases
Substance use
Abuse
Multiple gestation.

In My 35 weeks Pregnancy

Finally, I reach my 35 weeks of pregnancy. Just went for Gynae check up last Saturday. Surprisingly, doctor said I didn't put on weight. It maintain at 63.5kg. My baby girl also growth normally. Her weight is on track, 2.6kg now. Nothing to worry much. Baby girl still keep her face secretly to us. She still don't want to show us her face by hide under the placenta. She makes us more curious on her.

Doctor request me to do more exercise now for easy delivery. The best exercise is walking. Yeah, I did it everyday. Doctor will teach me some exercise for easy natural birth in the coming appointment.

Baby, mommy and daddy wish to "see" you next week. Come on ok!

33 Weeks

I am now in my 33 weeks. I can't manage to see my baby's face clearly during last week check up using the 3D ultrasound. Anyway, my baby only let me see her mouth open and close. Her face is hide under placenta. Therefore, the doctor said will try to see next week.
However, my weight increase another 1kg. It make up total of 11kg now. Doctor said my baby is too good in her weight as she is 2.4kg in my 32 weeks 5 days. She might want me to control on my supplement if I plan to give birth naturally. It's due to I am not a big size lady. She advise that the best weight on my baby for me to give birth naturally is 2.93kg. I hope I really can make it. Therefore, baby don't "eat" too much. Hahaha.......

Time pass very fast. Today is my 32 weeks of pregnancy. My tummy getting bigger but luckily I am still not clumsy. I have been put on weight for 10kg since I am getting pregnant. So far it is still on track. My gynae to me that I still have maximum 5kg to go until my due date. However, I would like to manage it around 12-13kg as average weight gain.

Looking forward to see my baby's face this Saturday as my Gynae is going to do the 3D scan for me. I can't imagine my baby cute face look like. Excited!!

Confinement Lady VS DIY

In Western, most of the people don't believe confinement month for a mother. But for Chinese, it is a very important period to re-built a lady body condition. If we are really take good care in this golden time of period, a lot of previous health problem will be solve automatically. Amazing right. Thus, Confinement Lady become a highly required job especially in City like Kuala Lumpur. The rates this year is RM2800 to RM3000 not including AngPow for that particular month. As this year is a very good year in Chinese belief, so most of the good CL has been fully booked. The job for a CL is basically help to take care the baby (Day & Night), bath the baby, boiled the ginger and herbs water for new mummy to take bath, cook the confinement food for new mother and help to clean up the baby and mummy clothes.

To be frank, it is not easy to let a stranger stay with you in a month time. Therefore, a lot of toleration, cooperation and patient we need to have in this period. After some discussion with hubby, we decided to DIY my first confinement with my Mother In Law together. She will take care the baby during day time. As I am planning to breastfeed my baby, so I take care the baby myself at night time. We will order the confinement food catering service so that my MIL won't be so tired. Yeah, I believe we can do it very well this time.

The main reason I don't really like a CL because most of them not encourage breastfeeding. I have already make up my mind to breastfeed my baby, therefore I am really very serious about it. I don't even accept their suggestion of pump out the milk for them to feed baby via milk bottle or mix with milk powder at night time. This will make their job easy but will make my life difficult afterwards. No way!

1st time Pregnancy - My Feelings

After married for about 1.5 years, finally I have a good news to hubby in year 2007. This is my first pregnancy, therefore both of us quite excited. We start to guess the baby gender. I like baby girl but he likes baby boy. Finally, my dream come true when the gynae told us it's a baby girl.

I am a very lucky lady as I have a very comfortable pregnancy without any morning sickness or tireness. I even very energetic to travel outstation by car for business trip in my early pregnancy (1st - 3rd months). I manage to "hide" my tummy until 4.5 months. Anyhow, this not come to me automatically, I have pay for it by consuming a lot of food supplements in order to gain my health during pregnancy.

Now I am in my 30 weeks of pregnancy. Glad to said that I never fall sick as at today. I am feeling very keen to see my baby in another 10 weeks. I hope she is really cute and healthy.
